CMas present suggestions for a pro!

I'm looking for a great Christmas present for someone I love who is
addicted to letterboxing. She's very in to it so I don't need advice
for something for a novice. PLEASE - any suggestions would be so
greatly appreciated. She's my only sister!

Here's some ideas:
Ink pads (Cat's eyes or Duo Daubers)
Pens
First Aid supplies (especially the creme that takes the burn out of stinging
nettles)
Nice carrying pack
personalized pack?
Hiking stick
Carving material
novelty boxes
Hand made log books
paper for making log books
Stickers for log books or boxes
On the other side of the coin.. the best birthday present I ever got was
letterbox related.
My best friend spent weeks carving a series of boxes that she planted just
for me. Each stamp depicted one of my favorite things. She then planted them
around town and we spent the entire day with a group of letterboxing friends
searching them out. I even had to answer clues to get my other presents :)
So there's a few ideas for you..
Hope that helps.

I have a nephew in NC who carves some really great walking sticks. They make beautiful gifts. Most have faces at the top, and a smooth place for your hand, and a leather loop for hanging. He has taken them a few steps further than many I have seen. My favorites still have some lichens spots, as the trees in NC have. If you'd like his contact info., email me privately and he could probably send you pics of the ones he has already made-- they're already photographed. I think the sticks cost $50 - $60. annalisa@fast.net --lunaryakketyact

Very nice comprehensive list. I want all of those, lol.
A couple of additional thoughts:
One of those nifty back-pack stools that were being discussed a few months
ago (an archive search should turn up links)
Merit badges (see the LBNA site)

Another idea would be a camelbak, or other brand of super-water-bag, if she doesn't have one. I'm a water freak and would love one of those bags! What aspect of the sport is it that she loves most? That might help narrow it down. I love seeing new spots and finding nifty little things on the way, like a leaf to photograph, or a woodpecker I haven't seen in awhile, so if it were me, a hand-held bird-call identifier or something like that which is nature-related would tickle me pink. --lunaryakketyact

All great ideas! How about adding an autographed copy of Randy Hall's book on letterboxing?
Or maybe round trip tickets to England for a Dartmoor vacation?
;-)
Have fun and just get out there & box!!!

How about one of those lighted magnifier stands to aid in carving? I've been meaning to go back through the message archives to find the links others provided a few months back as sources for this type of item, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
(If anyone has a list of links for these devices, could you please post it?)

How about one of those lighted magnifier stands to aid in carving? I've been meaning to go back through the message archives to find the links others provided a few months back as sources for this type of item, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

How about one of those lighted magnifier stands to aid in carving? I've been meaning to go back through the message archives to find the links others provided a few months back as sources for this type of item, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
(If anyone has a list of links for these devices, could you please post it?)

My family also hid a box for my birthday- it's an actual letterbox,
listed on the LBNA site, and the first one in our town! I got so
excited that I made them all go out with me to look for it the next
morning, having no idea that they were the planters. What a surprise
that, along with the first finder's certificate, was a birthday card.
(The box is still planted and on the list- you'll have to guess which
one it is.)

The boxes that were hidden for my party were eventually posted on the LBNA
list.. after the party goers had found them all :)
